Privacy Policy for BeeJoy on Apple Platforms

Last updated: October 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the BeeJoy application provider identified on its App Store listing ("BeeJoy," "we," "us," or "our") processes information when you use the Apple App Store version of BeeJoy and its related features, purchases, subscriptions, integrations, and services (collectively, the "Service") on supported versions of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, and visionOS.

BeeJoy is a media player and media-management application. Core playback and library processing are designed to occur on your device. We do not upload your media files to BeeJoy-operated servers merely because you browse or play them.

Privacy summary. Playback and media processing take place on your device, but enabled iCloud synchronization and connected online features can transmit the information described below to Apple or the relevant service provider. iCloud synchronization is enabled by default and can be turned off in BeeJoy settings. BeeJoy does not sell personal information or use it for cross-app advertising tracking.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Apple version of BeeJoy, not versions distributed through other platforms. Apple operates the App Store, Apple Account, iCloud, and system services independently under Apple's Privacy Policy and its service-specific notices. This policy does not replace the policies of Apple, cloud-storage providers, media servers, subtitle providers, metadata providers, or other services you use with BeeJoy.

2. Information We Process

2.1 Local Media and Library Data

When you browse, scan, organize, or play media, BeeJoy may process information on your device such as:

This information is primarily processed locally. Some application records may also synchronize through iCloud as described in Section 2.4 or through a connected service as described in Section 2.6. Playing a file does not by itself upload the media file to BeeJoy-operated servers.

2.2 Network, Media Server, and Cloud-Service Connections

BeeJoy may let you connect to sources such as SMB, WebDAV, FTP, SFTP, NFS, DLNA, media servers, cloud-storage providers, or streaming URLs. When you connect a source, BeeJoy may process information necessary to establish and maintain that connection, which may include:

Connection settings and credentials may be saved in BeeJoy's application data for reconnection. Network and cloud-source records, including stored credentials, may synchronize through iCloud when synchronization is enabled; see Section 2.4. Connections are made to the source you configure and its relevant authentication endpoints. When a provider uses OAuth without disclosing your password to BeeJoy, BeeJoy receives authorization tokens rather than that password.

2.3 Apple Purchases and Subscriptions

Where the Apple version offers in-app purchases or subscriptions, Apple processes the purchase. BeeJoy may process transaction or entitlement information made available through Apple's purchase services to provide paid access, including:

BeeJoy uses this information to verify, provide, restore, and support paid access and prevent purchase abuse. BeeJoy does not receive your Apple Account password or full payment-card details from Apple's purchase services.

2.4 iCloud Synchronization

BeeJoy uses Apple's CloudKit to synchronize eligible application records between your devices using your iCloud account. Synchronization is enabled by default, subject to iCloud availability and your device settings, and can be disabled using BeeJoy's iCloud Sync setting.

Synced records may include network or cloud-source configurations, server addresses, paths, usernames, saved passwords or authorization tokens, non-local library metadata, artwork references, watched status, resume positions, playlists, and IPTV source records. Local-folder connections and library entries marked as local are kept in a local-only store rather than the CloudKit-synced store. iCloud synchronization does not upload your video or audio files through this feature.

Apple processes synchronized records under its iCloud terms and privacy information. Device or iCloud backups may separately retain application data according to your Apple settings. Disabling synchronization does not automatically delete records previously stored in iCloud; see Section 9.

2.5 Subtitle Translation and On-Device Machine Learning

On supported Apple devices and operating-system versions, subtitle translation uses Apple's Translation framework with on-device language models. Subtitle text and translated output are processed on your device for this feature, rather than sent to a BeeJoy translation server. Apple may download the required language models through its system services.

Where available, Whisper speech recognition processes audio from the media you play on your device to generate subtitles. This feature does not require recording your microphone or uploading media audio to BeeJoy for transcription. Additional Whisper models can be downloaded from Hugging Face; the download host and its delivery providers receive ordinary network request information, such as your IP address and the requested model file, but the model download does not send your media audio or subtitle text.

If cloud-based translation or transcription is introduced, we will disclose the provider and the information sent before you use that feature and obtain consent where required.

2.6 Online Metadata, Subtitles, Comments, and Viewing Sync

Online library matching, subtitle or on-screen comment searches, and intro/outro lookups can send media titles, filename-derived search terms, media identifiers, episode information, language preferences, or file hashes to the relevant provider, depending on the feature. For example, TMDB supplies metadata, IntroDB receives an IMDb identifier and, for episodes, season and episode numbers, and connected comment providers receive search terms or episode identifiers. Requests may occur automatically during library scanning or playback when the relevant feature is active.

If you connect Trakt or a media-server account and use its viewing synchronization features, BeeJoy may exchange your account profile, media identifiers, watched history, viewing times, playback progress, or ratings with that service. Disconnect the account or disable the relevant synchronization feature to stop future exchanges.

These providers receive the network information needed to handle your requests, including your IP address. Their own privacy policies apply. BeeJoy does not send your complete media files to a metadata or intro/outro provider merely to identify a title or obtain segment information.

2.7 Support and Communications

If you contact us for support, we process the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message contents, screenshots, diagnostic information, or sample details needed to investigate your request.

2.8 Diagnostics and Technical Information

BeeJoy may receive crash reports, error information, performance data, operating-system information, or app-version information that Apple makes available according to your analytics-sharing settings, or that you voluntarily provide for troubleshooting. Local diagnostic logs may also contain filenames, source addresses, or playback details. Review and remove passwords, tokens, private URLs, or other sensitive information before sending logs or screenshots to support.

2.9 Device Permissions and Immersive Playback

BeeJoy accesses files or folders you select to browse, import, download, or play media. Local-network access supports discovering and connecting to nearby media servers and playback devices. These permissions can be managed through your device settings or by removing a connected source in BeeJoy, as supported by your operating system.

On visionOS, immersive playback uses device-position and orientation information to render and position the video. With your permission, hand-position information supports immersive player interaction. BeeJoy processes this tracking information on the device for playback and controls; it does not upload it to BeeJoy-operated servers or use it for advertising or profiling. You can revoke hand-tracking permission in visionOS settings.

3. How We Use Information

We process information described in this Privacy Policy for purposes including:

4. Legal Bases Where Applicable

Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing personal data, BeeJoy may rely on one or more of the following:

5. How Information Is Shared

BeeJoy does not sell your personal information. We may disclose or make information available only in circumstances such as the following:

6. Purchases, Subscriptions, and Billing

Where offered, Apple processes BeeJoy's App Store purchases and subscriptions and handles billing, payment, tax, and Apple Account information under its own privacy policy. BeeJoy does not directly collect or store your full payment-card number.

BeeJoy receives only the purchase, subscription, or entitlement information reasonably necessary to determine whether you have access to the paid features associated with your purchase and to support restoration or account-related purchase functionality where available.

7. Third-Party Services

BeeJoy integrates with or can connect to third-party services that are not operated by BeeJoy. These may include app stores, device platforms, cloud-storage providers, media servers, metadata services, subtitle services, machine-learning SDKs, and websites. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Review the privacy information provided by services you connect. BeeJoy does not control their independent processing, but this does not remove our obligations for information we process or share. Where a provider processes personal information on our behalf, we require protection consistent with this policy and applicable privacy requirements.

8. Data Storage and Retention

Information stored locally generally remains until you delete the relevant application records, downloaded files, or cached data. Uninstalling may remove local application data, but does not necessarily remove downloaded files outside the application, backups, or synchronized records. iCloud records may remain until deleted through the available BeeJoy or Apple controls.

Third-party platform data, cloud-service data, purchases, subscriptions, and account records may be retained by the applicable third party according to its own policies. BeeJoy may retain support communications and any information we directly hold only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide support, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or protect the Service.

9. Deleting Your Data

You can delete library entries or connected sources, remove downloaded media or models, and disconnect third-party accounts using the available BeeJoy controls. To propagate deletion of synchronized application records, delete the relevant records while iCloud synchronization is active and allow synchronization to complete. Simply switching off iCloud Sync or uninstalling BeeJoy does not erase previously synchronized records or backups; use Apple's available iCloud storage and backup controls for data retained there.

To withdraw permission for a feature, disable it in BeeJoy, disconnect its account, or revoke the relevant permission in your device settings. You can also revoke BeeJoy's authorization through a connected provider's account settings. This stops future access for that feature but may not erase information the provider already retains. Apple purchase history, active subscriptions, and third-party account data must be managed with the relevant provider. Removing BeeJoy does not cancel an Apple subscription.

To request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data that BeeJoy directly controls, contact us at 753450350@qq.com. Please provide enough information for us to identify and respond to your request. We may need to retain limited information where required by law or where necessary for security, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information processed by BeeJoy. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for securing your device, network accounts, server credentials, and third-party accounts used with BeeJoy.

Use encrypted connections where your server supports them. Unencrypted protocols or URLs may expose transmitted information to others on the network; BeeJoy cannot make an insecure server connection secure merely by playing it.

11. International Data Transfers

Depending on the platform and third-party services you choose to use, information may be processed in countries or regions other than where you live. Those providers may operate globally and process information according to their own privacy policies and applicable legal safeguards.

12. Children's Privacy

BeeJoy is not directed to children under 13, or a higher minimum age where required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information directly to BeeJoy without required authorization, please contact us so that we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.

Platform providers may apply their own age requirements, family settings, or parental controls to purchases, subscriptions, and account features.

13. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning personal data, such as rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection to certain processing, and the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise rights regarding information directly controlled by BeeJoy, contact us using the email address below. For information independently controlled by Apple, a connected cloud provider, a media server, or another third party, you may need to submit your request directly to that provider. Apple's account-data tools are available at Apple Data and Privacy. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

14. No Sale or Advertising Tracking

BeeJoy does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. BeeJoy does not use Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA), track your activity across other companies' apps or websites for advertising, or use purchase, media-library, or immersive-tracking information to build advertising profiles.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to BeeJoy features, third-party integrations, legal requirements, or platform requirements. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date on this page and provide additional notice where required by applicable law.

You should review this Privacy Policy periodically for changes.
